1. Basic Rules

The artificial grass surface of the MISL is approximately 200 feet long and 85 feet wide, is surrounded by a wall whose top is made of Plexiglas. The benches and penalty areas are located behind the walls in midfield.

The goals have dimensions of eight feet high and 14 feet wide and fixed to the walls at both ends of the court.

The ball is the MISL PUMA with 27 to 28 inches in circumference and 14-16 ounces.

The game is played in four quarters of 15 minutes each. There is an interval of three minutes between the first and second quarters and between the third and fourth, with 15 minute break at halftime. The clock stops when a goal is scored when the ball leaves the playing area or when there is a foul, a foul is charged, is violation of yellow line or the referee calls time. The clock will restart when the ball gets back into play.

The visitors made the kick in the first and third quarter, the home team does in the second and fourth periods. The play resumed (after the ball leaves the playing area) playing it with the foot-pieces, with a corner or putting into circulation the goalkeeper.

Corner kicks are charged if the ball leaves the playing area by the area comprising the goal area after being touched by a defensive player. Yellow line violations are identified when the ball crosses the offensive pass two yellow lines in the air without being touched by another. The goalkeeper can not play the ball on two lines except in a shot from the penalty area. When you make this absence, play resumed with a change of ball possession and direct fire from the yellow line of defense.

Players and referees

A goalkeeper and five field players represent each team.

There is freedom to make changes of players at any time during the celebration of the party, there is no limit to the number of changes that could develop during the game.

There are two referees on the field throughout the game, both with absolute authority.

An assistant referee is located at the control desk to monitor the game clock, penalty areas, benches, keep statistics of the party and the other two assistant referees on the control over it.

GOLES

A goal is scored when the ball completely crosses the goal line by the goalkeeper. All goals scored are worth two points, except those that are listed in a semicircle behind the shots fired at 45 feet from the goal, which will be worth three points.

FAULTS AND PUNISHMENT

The faults are penalized with a free kick to the offended team and in some cases, depending on the severity of a foul with time in the penalty area. A goal may be scored directly by charging a failure.

The faults that warrant penalty in the penalty area are inappropriate behavior and major violations. All the plays of power to the offended team with a duration of two (2) minutes. Inappropriate behavior (the referee shows a yellow card) is punishable by five (5) minutes. The absence will be marked until the team who committed the violation of the rules gain possession of the ball or the play ends otherwise.

A penalty kick is awarded to a team when the defending team commits a foul in his own penalty area. The penalty kick is performed from the shot mark located 24 feet directly in front of goal. All players except the shooter and the goalkeeper, must remain behind the yellow line.

Female Advantage (power play) a team will play one or two players less when he is serving a punishment prescribed by one of the referees of the match.

A shootout is awarded for those offenses that prevent a clear shot on goal. Offended team bring a player to collect a situción lack of one-on-one against goalkeeper otherwise. The shootout starts from the center yellow line of defense.

All fouls are punished for inappropriate behavior with five (5) minutes in the penalty area. The player responsible for the failure should serve the sentence remaining in that area.

The expulsions occur when a player is guilty of the following offenses: violent conduct or serious misconduct, inappropriate language or accumulation of three fouls.
